A First Piano Lesson For a Beginner – A Piano Teachers Guide to Beginning to Learn Piano

As a teacher, I like new pupils to go away with a sense of achievement after their first lesson and most importantly, a big smile on their face. I think it’s important when you start learning, not to be given too many different things, as you won’t take it all in. I think from experience you learn better just having a few tasks to do, rather than trying to squeeze loads of different things in.

So to get absolute beginners started, I normally do the following in a first lesson:

The Dalcroze music education system is still valid for the day

I realize that most of my readers to see the word “gymnastics” we think of Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart, the famous pop group of the same name. My point of reference, however, is the same as Annie Lennox who named the group after the movement technique he learned in school.

Stated succinctly rhythmic gymnastics (also spelled eurhthmics) can be defined as “harmonious bodily movement as a form of artistic expression -. Specifically, the Dalcroze system of musical education in which body movements are used to represent musical rhythms “

Rhythmic gymnastics was developed around 1905 by a Swiss musician Emile Jaques Dalcroze call. He was professor of harmony at the Conservatory of Geneva. He considered that the conventional form was very unsatisfactory professional musicians. He was looking for a way to improve your musical skills to students through more sensitive to the pace and through this, hope they can undertake deep personal interpretations of the music played. Modern Technology Update Education

Children do not often consider school to be ‘cool’ or ‘modern’. Most of us remember the school and sit at a desk covered with 20 years of age, the graffiti, while reading a history textbook that stopped in the Cold War.

If the result of lack of funds or the administration’s aversion to change, schools are rarely considered to be at the forefront of technology. However, most school administrators are realizing the educational benefits of modern technologies offer to students.

This change in attitude began with the introduction of the Internet in early 1990. The possibilities of the Internet in terms of learning and education quickly realized, and computers with Internet connection soon became widely adopted by many school systems. Read the rest of this entry »
